Attorney General DeWine Creates New Advisory Group and Leads Effort to Take Guns Out of the Hands of Violent Criminals

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) Today Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine pledged to focus efforts on removing guns from violent repeat criminals.  He announced the formation of a new Ohio Attorney General Gun Crime Advisory Group.

Attorney General DeWine Convenes New Human Trafficking Commission

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today held the first meeting of the newly convened Human Trafficking Commission. DeWine had announced in May that the Commission would be formed and continue the work started by the Trafficking in Persons Study Commission, which was established by the Ohio General Assembly and had completed its statutory directives.

Attorney General DeWine Certifies Petition for Legislative Redistricting Amendment

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today certified the petition for the proposed legislative redistricting amendment to the Ohio Constitution.

On March 19, 2012, the Ohio Attorney General's Office received a written petition to add and repeal language to the Ohio Constitution from the committee to represent the petitioners. The submission was certified today as containing both the necessary 1,000 valid signatures from registered Ohio voters and a "fair and truthful" summary of the proposed amendment.
