Attorney General DeWine, Ashtabula Police Announce Voyeurism Arrest

4/3/2015

(ASHTABULA, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today the arrest of an Ashtabula man on multiple charges of voyeurism.

Kevin Weir, 40, was taken into custody this morning after authorities with the Attorney General's Crimes Against Children Unit and Ashtabula Police Department served a search warrant at his West 13th Street home in connection with a child pornography investigation.

During the course of the search warrant, investigators uncovered multiple videos allegedly recorded by Weir of an adult female in a state of undress without her knowledge.

Weir was arrested on four felony charges of voyeurism and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass.

The investigation regarding the alleged online dissemination of child pornography by Weir is ongoing.

Authorities with the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in serving the search warrant.
