Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Law Enforcement Officers Honor 799 Killed in the Line of Duty

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, members of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and law enforcement officers from across the state gathered May 2 for the annual Ohio Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony to honor the 799 Ohio peace officers who have died in the line of duty since 1823.

Did You Know?

Did you know that the training village on the OPOTA main campus has expanded? OPOTA acquired the warden’s house and property from London Correctional which will primarily be used as a crime scene house. The adjacent garage will include an apartment and enclosed stairway for building entry and simunitions training.

Are you interested in teaching cadets in an academy setting? If so, you may qualify to take the Community Diversity & Procedural Justice Instructor course.

The duty knife is an invaluable tool that is carried by many officers for use as a general utility device and under certain extreme circumstances as a back-up weapon. Whether it is to be used for rescue operations or for self-defense, training with a duty knife often gets neglected. Until now!

Immersive training helps officers gain important experience in stress-inducing, realistic environments to simulate what they may encounter while on duty.
