09/16/2011 Email to Instructors & Commanders - Curriculum Changes

11/4/2011

Commanders and Instructors,

The Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission will release revisions of basic training lesson plans on a continuing basis.  We intend to communicate electronically with you about these changes, primarily by e-mail.  Ensuring that we have your current email address on file will allow you to receive vital communications that may affect the status of your certifications, academies, and/or instructors.

It will be your responsibility to provide us with your current contact information.  Please visit our website at www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov/OPOTAUpdate to update your e-mail, phone number, and address.

Please refer to the attached curriculum Audit Sheets and “Need to Know” lists which highlights curriculum changes effective January 1, 2012.  Curriculum revisions may include, but are not limited to, changes in Student Performance Objectives, legislation, and officer safety issues.

As always, please contact your assigned Certification Officer or Field Agent with any questions about these changes.  You may also contact the Education and Policy Section, at 740-845-2700, for any specific curriculum questions.
