Semi-Auto Pistol Qualifications and RQT-2 Targets

The attached Semi-Auto Pistol Qualification Course of Fire and OPOTA RQT-2 target was approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission on September 15, 2011.  Law Enforcement Agencies may use this course of fire and target as an alternative to the current standard beginning January 1, 2012.  The use of the course of fire and target is mandatory for all Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies beginning January 1, 2013.  The new course of fire and target will also apply to all Peace Officer Basic Training Schools starting on or after January 1, 2013.

The Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission will release revisions of basic training lesson plans on a continuing basis.
