This two-day course,
Dispatcher Responsibilities at a Barricade, Hostage or Suicide Situation, assists dispatchers in handling critical incident calls, establishing a rapport with the caller, and gaining valuable intelligence on the situation. Students who attend the class will review topics such as communication center responsibilities in a critical incident situation, development of agency policies and procedures, communication techniques, and commonly available resources.
NOTE: This program does not train personnel to function as hostage negotiators.
