Details

On 08/29/1969, the remains of a 28-45 year old black male were found in a barrel in the vicinity of 3170-3180 East 82nd St., Cleveland, OH. This man measured an estimated 73" in height, had black medium length hair that was partially present and a "Sally" tattoo on the inside of the left forearm. Three well-formed bullets were found in the cervical region. A flattened and deformed bullet is related to the dorsal aspect of the left wrist. The views of the skull show a depressed fracture near the midline just above the herophile. A linear fracture extends across parietal bone. The sloping forehead and convolutional markings of the inner table of the frontal bone, suggest the type of skull configuration seen with cranio-facial dysostosis. However, the facial bones are not disturbed. Both petrous pyramids are sclerotic, indicative of poor pneumatization, probably developmental. The rest of the skeletal survey shows an adult skeleton without evidence of degenerative changes or bone lesions. The skull shows a sloping frontal bone with may be the results of early suture do not support this approach. Dense mastoids probably developmental. Clothing was partially dissolved by the fluid and was washed and air-dried due to caustic fluid prior to examination for defects. Clothing includes a tan corduroy jacket with quilted and matted fiber inner lining, front zipper closure, "Cal Craft Sportswear" on black label with gold stitching at back of neck; gray colored, herringbone patterned cotton twill work shirt, label at back of neck is not discernible; yellow-gray appearing t-shirt with short sleeves; gray colored trouser fragments (2 major portions), brown combat boot type footwear that show present on right foot and extends above the level of the ankle. This boot measured 13" from the back of the heel to the tip of the toe. A wristwatch with a "Wallham" trademark with a gray metal stretch band recovered from left wrist and a gray metal ring with blue stone recovered from left 4th finger. The probable year of death is 1969.
