On July 29th, 1976 at approximately 10:30 am. officers responded to Holiday Inn East at 4801 East Broad Street. Cleaning staff had located the body of Virginia Vangler in room #175. Vangler had been staying in the room for approximately four months and was known by all the employees. Vangler was 68 years old and lived in the room alone, her husband had passed away about five years earlier. Her body was discovered wrapped up in the bathroom.
