On 11/29/1990 at approximately 2215hrs., the victim, Monte Thurmond was involved in some type of an altercation in the area of 306 East 6th Street in which he was beaten severely. Mr. Thurmond suffered injuries that led to him being in a coma for some period of time. Mr. Thurmond later died in 2007 and the Coroner ruled the death a homicide as a result of the injuries suffered from the assault.
