Details

On June 15, 2022, at approximately 5:46pm, officers were dispatched to the 1800 Block of Fairmont Ave on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived at scene and found two victims in need of medical assistance. Officers and bystanders provided aid to the victims until Columbus Fire personnel arrived. Victim #1, 24yr old Atayia Nichols, was transported to Grant Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 5:54pm.
