On Friday, August 6, 2021, at 3:02PM, Columbus Police Officers were called to the 5400 block of Chatford Sq. on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found the decedent, a male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Madison Township Medic 823 responded and pronounced the victim deceased at 3:13PM. The investigation revealed the victim, 23yr old Lante Hughes was operating a vehicle on Chatford Sq. when it was struck by gunfire, fatally wounding Hughes.
