Details

On October 20, 2021, at approximately 10:53 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Cleveland Ave. and E. 21st Ave. on report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers met with 19yr old Tanknai Houpe, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and chest area. Mr. Houpe was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later died as a result of his injuries. Officers met with a witness who stated they and Mr. Houpe were walking in the area of Cleveland Ave. and E 21st. Ave. when a black four door sedan passed them and unknown occupants inside the vehicle fired multiple gunshots at them, striking Mr. Houpe.
