On Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Columbus Police officers were called to 1275 E. 17th Avenue on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers found an injured female, lying on the floor of the residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Medic 7 responded to the scene and transported the victim to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. At 11:32 p.m., the victim, later identified as 61yr old Linda Cowans, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.
