On Friday, November 22, 2019 at approximately 7:17 p.m., Columbus Police Officers were called to the area of Shady Lane Elementary School at 1444 Shady Lane Road, on the report of a shooting near the school. Upon arrival, Officers found an injured male, lying inside a crashed vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Engine 4 responded to the scene and pronounced the victim, later identified as 18yr old Brenden Brown, deceased at 8:16 p.m.
