Details
On Feb. 24, 1989 Sharon Blackburn left home telling her family she was going out with some friends for the evening and would return home later that night.
The next morning, Sharon had not returned home and her family became concerned. She was last seen at Georgia’s Friendly Tavern on Parsons Ave. in Columbus, Ohio around 11 p.m. Feb. 24. No one knew where Sharon was.
Four days later, on Monday, Feb. 28, 1989, a man out for a morning walk spotted the body of a young girl in a ditch at the end of Vause Road, near Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in southern Franklin County. It was Sharon Blackburn. She had been beaten to death.
Investigators are attempting to locate anyone who had contact with Sharon before her death or who may have information regarding her murder.
