May serves as a Deputy Solicitor General in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. May’s practice focuses on defending the rights of Ohioans against unconstitutional and unlawful federal policies and preserving separation of powers between the federal and state governments. Before joining the Office of the Solicitor General, May served as a senior official in the White House, working in the Office of White House Counsel, the Office of the Chief of Staff, and the Office of the Staff Secretary.

May received her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She clerked for Chief Judge Timothy Tymkovich of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and practiced litigation at Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell in Denver. Before becoming a lawyer, May taught sixth grade in Kansas City with Teach for America.
