Jonathan Fulkerson, Deputy Chief Counsel, oversees the Executive Agencies, Health and Human Services, Public Utilities, Worker’s Compensation, Civil Rights and Taxation Sections of Attorney General DeWine’s Office.
Prior to becoming Deputy Chief Counsel, Jonathan worked in the Health and Human Services Section for eight years, most recently serving as Section Chief. He represented agencies and regulatory boards in various healthcare fields.
Prior to his service in the Health and Human Services Section, Jonathan worked in the Criminal Division of the Attorney General’s Office on capital and non-capital habeas
cases, as well as prisoner civil rights cases. He began his career in the Attorney General’s Office as a law school extern. Jonathan also worked in private practice representing and counseling business clients on regulatory matters.
In addition to his role as deputy chief counsel, Jonathan teaches classes on Ohio’s concealed handgun licensing law and a variety of criminal procedure topics at the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Academy. Jonathan holds a bachelor of arts in Justice from The American University in Washington, D.C. with a minor in Business Administration and earned his juris doctor degree from Capital University. He is an Eagle Scout and is active as a Cub Scout leader.
