(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for assistance from Cleveland-area business owners to help investigators piece together the police pursuit that ended in an officers-involved shooting incident late last month. Two people died.
Agents with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have collected several surveillance videos from businesses located along the chase route, and they are hoping to find more.
"We want to make sure this investigation is as thorough as possible," said Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. "If you have a camera that recorded only a few seconds of the pursuit, our BCI agents would like to see it."
The pursuit began at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center on St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland and proceeded along the following route:
- South on Ontario Street into Public Square
- West on Superior Avenue and across the Detroit-Superior Bridge
- South on West 45th Street
- West on Lorain Avenue
- South on West 85th Street
- East on Clark Avenue
- South on West 14th Street
- East on Quigley Road
- South on Steelyard Drive
- North on 176/Jennings Freeway
- North on Interstate 71
- East on Interstate 90
- South on East 72nd Street
- West on St. Clair Avenue
- South on East 68th Street
- East on Bliss Avenue
- South on East 71st Street
- South on Addison Road
- East on Star Avenue
- South on East 79th Street
- West on Decker Avenue
- South on Addison Road
- East on Wade Park Avenue (into East Cleveland)
- South on East 118th Street
- East on Euclid Avenue
- South on Wymore Avenue
Chase ended in the parking lot of Heritage Middle School, 14410 Terrace Road, East Cleveland.
Anyone who owns a surveillance camera along that route, who has not previously been contacted by BCI regarding this investigation is asked to contact agents at 855-BCI-OHIO (855-224-6446).
