ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement)
ARIDE is intended to provide officers with general knowledge related to drug impaired driving and to promote the use of Drug Recognition Experts (DRE). The ARIDE program also stresses the importance of securing the most appropriate biological sample to identify substances likely causing impairment. The instructors for this course will be DRE's from the Central and Northeast Ohio Area. The training also promotes interaction with representatives from the state's prosecution community. Prosecutors are welcome at this training. OVI drug related case law will be presented.
Prerequisite: Students wishing to attend the ARIDE training shall have completed an ADAP/ SFST course. Students shall be able to demonstrate their proficiency at the start of the ARIDE training. Both written and practical exercises must be completed successfully to be able to complete this course.
