Advanced/Recertification Law Enforcement Thermal Imaging
Students will complete a 8 hour course containing legal and technical updates, recently developed tactics and techniques, and updates on grant programs. Upon completion students who have previously complete the Basic Thermal Imaging course will receive an Advanced Certification. Students who have previously completed the Advanced Certification will be recertified. Certification is recommended every two years.
Note: Course hours are 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Students should dress appropriately for the weather conditions that may occur during the outside exercises. Limited thermal imaging equipment will be provided in class but students are asked to bring their departmental thermal imaging equipment if they have one. Thermal imaging equipment can be borrowed from local National Guard Units by individual departments for class. Departments should make contact with National Guard units directly for arrange for use of the equipment.
Prerequisites: All Advanced Class Attendees must have completed a Basic Thermal Imaging Certification through L.E.T.A or D.E.A. No other agency training or seminars will be accepted.
