School Resource Officer
Creating and maintaining a safer school environment is the primary goal of every SRO…but how exactly should law enforcement prepare for a challenge of that magnitude? The Ohio School Resource Officers Association is hosting this basic training to assist SROs in equipping themselves with the information and skills they need to identify, address and prevent crime and violence in Ohio schools. The 36-hour course curriculum will cover SROs major responsibilities as well as Ohio School Laws, Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) for SROs, and tips on integrating an SRO in a school environment. Certificates will be distributed to students who successfully attend all sessions and complete course exercises.
Note: OPOTA does not accept registrations for these courses. Prospective students must register directly with the Ohio School Resource Officers Association at www.osroa.org
