Hazmat & WMD Awareness for the First Responder (Train-the-Trainer)
This is a “train-the-trainer” course for Hazmat & WMD Awareness for the First Responder. It provides information and techniques for safety services personnel (fire, law enforcement, EMS, health care providers and public works) who may be involved in hazardous materials or weapons of mass destruction incidents.
This one-day course was developed by the Ohio Homeland Security Task Force Subcommittee on Training and authorizes the individual to teach the eight-hour course. This course is required for anyone seeking approval to teach this topic in Peace Officer Basic Training. It meets National Fire Protection Association, Inc. (NFPA), United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP) standards/guidelines.
Prerequisite: Completion of the Hazmat & WMD Awareness for the First Responder course or equivalent Hazardous Materials course.
